France’s football team has arrived home to a storm of criticism following its early exit from the World Cup. Poor performaces on the pitch, and in-fighting off it, have infuriated the French public. Thierry Henry, one of the team’s star players, has just met with Nicolas Sarkozy, the country’s president, to discuss what went wrong. Hamish Macdonald reports from Paris. [July 24, 2010]
