London Olympics leader Sebastian Coe defended BP on Tuesday, saying the company is a “partner to stay” of the 2012 Games despite the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. BP has been a top-tier sponsor of the London Olympics since 2008 in a deal valued at about $58 million. The company has come under severe criticism in the United States for its handling of the massive spill.
